Looking for a fun and unique place to work? TiVo is looking for a detail oriented, process savvy Software Production manager with leadership experience to make an immediate impact on and be a positive influence on our software build and release team and process. The qualified manager will have 5+ years of previous release engineering work experience, have experience with source code management and continuous build systems and approaches, extensive experience in engineering operations, and have a passion for continual improvements. As the manager of the Software Release Engineering team you will oversee and enhance TiVo's existing build environment, integrate software analysis tools and coordinate major releases. You and your team will work closely with the development, QA and program management teams to manage the software branch lifecycle, support the build infrastructure, and provide basic sanity testing of builds. You will be working closely with engineering, IT, and QA. Here's what you get to do: Function as a Software Production manager. In this role, you will be the liaison between engineering, QA and program management groups involved in software product releases. You will be responsible for source control, build and deployment management processes. Your team will also be responsible for:

• Generating and delivering software builds and releases for multiple platforms
• Resolving software configuration management issues
• Maintaining branch lifecycle policies and procedures
• Maintaining the Source Code Management system
• Handling multiple branches, multiple projects, source defining and back porting fixes to stabilization branches
• Performing ‘sanity’ testing of builds
• Supporting efforts in unit testing, simulators and automated testing infrastructure
• Care and Feeding of the build systems

What you'll need to be successful:

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering operations management experience
• Experience with SCM and Build tools, such as Perforce, Rational ClearCase, CVS, or similar, and bug tracking tools, such as Bugzilla or Clearquest
• Experience with introducing improvements for release management
• Experience with the process of manufacturing software
• Ability to switch between tactical and strategic planning, set priorities and execute
• Ability to learn new technical information quickly
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Should take a leadership role while building team consensus
• Rigorous and detail-oriented
• Able to successfully work in a rapid development environment
• Good sense of humor

Additional Skills:

• Experience with continuous build process
• Experience in scaling and continuous improvement of engineering process and infrastructure
• Experience with integration of source code management and bug tracking tools
• Experience with designing dashboards for display of development-oriented operational metrics
